So I've been playing beta and launch is approaching... and I still have no idea what career I'm going to choose as my main. I'm going Order because of my inherent Lawful Good tendencies [plus 5/10 Destruction classes don't have a female avatar] and although I was originally all about being a Dwarf, I've shifted to Empire. That narrows me down to Bright Wizard, Witch Hunter, or Warrior Priest.

Usually in MMOs there's a class that stands out above the rest... in WAR, all the classes are so good and so unique that I'm really having a tough time.

Bright Wizard: Pros
- I like the BW's Bride-of-Frankenstein hair option. It really gives me a unique look.
- I also like the single-target DPS I'm able to output.
- Combustion is a unique mechanic that makes you aware of what you're doing, and a bit nervous when doing it. Yes, I am 'The Singed'.
- No problem being up there in PQ contribution.
- It's a caster class, and as such it tends to be my preferred choice.

Bright Wizard: Cons
- The career outfits are weird looking. I can roll with it, but man.
- I'm squishy. Very squishy. And very much a primary target to be taken out by the opposition... frequently. Irritating.

Witch Hunter: Pros
- Looking like Van Helsing is way cool.
- The spells are interesting, like 'Burn, Heretic!'. It's the Inquisition!
- Spells have good utility, like ignoring armor; they're positional, however.
- Still get on the PQ contribution lists decently enough.

Witch Hunter: Cons
- I'm still squishy. Not as much of a target as a BW, but still I would have expected to be less squishy since I'm not in cloth armor.
- Melee DPS seems to be [at the lower level's I've played] about hitting for less damage but more often. It evens out, but it's not my preferred style.
- It's a rogue/caster killer archetype... not *really* my style, historically.

Warrior Priest: Pros
- I like the way my character looks in armor; probably like it the most out of my three choices.
- I really feel I contribute in scenarios by healing, more so than when I play a DPS class. I like playing scenarios on this career.
- I think I would enjoy the lore of the IP the most as a WP. I don't roleplay, but I do loreplay.
- It's a healing class, which I have enjoyed playing in the past.

Warrior Priest: Cons
- The hair options for character creation are horrible. I mean, a bowl cut? Dear Sigmar...
- WPs have about the lowest DPS out of any of the 20 classes. I don't expect healing classes to have the same DPS as non-healing classes, but I don't want to be gimp either. I did *that* when I chose a paladin as my main in WoW when it first launched in '04. Not going there again.
- I don't want to take forever to kill stuff. It's decent now, at lower levels, but I'm worried about the class as it goes into higher levels. Did I mention I was a WoW paladin back in the day? Yeah....

I've played all 3 classes to lvl 5-7 and I still am torn. Four days until launch. Urk...

When in doubt, go with a role you are familiar with. Tank, Healer, DPS? I started out wanting to play the Warrior Priest, I gave it a good run through (played til about rank 18 or so). I of course tried other classes and once again I've found myself loving a front line tank class... the Ironbreaker. :)
