I was playing my Warrior Priest last night [I've about talked myself out of Witch Hunter] when I got reminded of the negative aspects of being a healing class. Namely, if someone dies it's your fault whether it actually is or not.
I'd joined the Nordenwatch scenario. As we were waiting for it to begin, this elf [forget the name] told us to go to the fortress. So as the scenario begins, everyone starts towards the fortress and no one goes to the lighthouse, except for two BWs and myself. As we stand there waiting for the flag to capture, the elf says in chat 'Three people to capture the flag? There's some smart people.' That ticked me off, but I didn't say anything. I have seen Dest. groups splinter off towards the lighthouse in the beginning in previous times I'd played, but whatever. I shrug it off, and don't say anything. As the scenario continues, so does the verbal abuse from this elf, also a dwarf, but primarily this elf.
There were too many low levels playing. Nobody was healing him. [Insert whine/emo here.]
You know, there are ways to be constructive and then there are other ways to be rude and abusive; this elf [and dwarf] took the later.
Yelling at low level players doesn't do anything. They don't go 'poof' and get replaced with level 11 characters. This is beta; people try out different characters to get a feel for the class and areas. Who do you think you are?
About healing in a scenario... that's all I really do. I see other classes healing also. You expose your ignorance of class mechanics by not realizing that in order for us to have RF to heal with, we need to either do damage or channel a spell which is kinda difficult if you are being beat on. And guess what... if you're out of my range, I'm not healing you. If you're mad at healers for not healing you, why aren't you keeping near healers to protect them so that we can? Yelling like a 14 year old boy with a temper tantrum is really counter-productive.
Before the scenario was over, I'd come to the decision that I wasn't going to heal that elf even if he were the only other person in Nordenwatch. I *wanted* him to die. Yes, I was pretty irate.
I never said anything during this. That type of person isn't going to be reasonable, and arguing in general chat makes you both look bad. I didn't queue up again because I knew he would, and instead did a PQ that got me a random drop for blue shoulders for my class.
I'm not going to make a decision to not play a WP because of this one asshat however it does reinforce my decision to go to a RP server. I don't RP, but the more mature player base will be a sight for sore eyes.

I hate little snot nosed kids who mouth off in games too cause they don't know a damn thing on top of the fact that they talk a lot of trash from the safety of their computer desk. :P
Hang tough brother, don't let the dumb kids get you down. ;)
